Flames of Mordor??? When I see how misrespected our Lord is by this garbage I think I begin to understand why St. Teresa of Jesus used to whip herself in penance for the heretics.
This website continually reminds me why the daily Rosary and penance for the conversion of sinners (me included) are so necessary these days!!!!!!
I turn on my range and all the flames point up. I light a fire in my fireplace and all the flames point up. I look at my Pentecost icon and all the "descending" flames above the heads of the Apostles are pointing up. Whence cometh this idea they would ever point in any other direction? Somebody must be standing on their head.
If an artist is going to represent The Holy Spirit with an icon of flames, reds, yellows, oranges and -- if the flame is burning hot enough -- perhaps even blue are the obvious choices. Looking at actual flames one usually sees yellow or blue, rarely red.
Perhaps it is because so many have become so luke warm about the faith, that this imagery is being used with greater and greater urgency to warn against the icey center of hell.
Is this parament found, perchance, in the pro-cathedral of St. Grima the Wormtongued in the Diocese of Mordor and Nurn shown below? Purge the squalidness that shames us!
The more this kind of nonsense happens the more the Vatican will feel it necessary to rein things in. What in heavens name is the matter with this pastor?
Maybe, the frontal will be so real looking, the priest will think its actual fire, get scared and think he's actually gonna get burned; and when he jumps up, he'll be two and a half feet closer to heaven, for that brief second.
In olden times, use of such accoutrements might well have earned the clergyman the occasion to experience REAL flames coming from that direction! Now that's what you call: I-RO-NEEEEEE...
We shall spare you our drivel if you will but spare us YOURS! By the way, you yourself have noticed the spec in our eyes, while not seeing your own log... how delightful that your criticism should apply to yourself as well! Or do you think yourself so high and mighty that when you criticize, it is valid to do so - but that nobody else should have that same privilege because we are all such immature, unreasonable little ruffians who are so in need of your enlightenment? Lord, I thank thee that I am not like other men!

Not from "down there"!
Surely it represents some vividly-colored tropical sea anemone.
Pentecost?
When did orange become a liturgical colour?
X,
CORRECT!! Ding-ding-ding-ding-ding-ding-ding-ding-ding!!
Well, we have been hearing a lot about demons in Mark...
You can buy these bedsheets. Just ask for the Presiding Bishop Collection at Penney's.

That's a hell of a parament.
Wow, we're gonna need two dozen Anglo Catholics, buckets and Aspergillum to put this one out...
Orange is a rarely used colour for feasts of SS. Peter and Paul. I don't think that was the intent here, however.
I think this frontal bespeaks the truth about whatever "church" thinks it's appropriate.
That's horrid!!!

Maybe it matches preachers painted in gold, such as:

What's with Anglicans and flames here lately?
..... save us from the fires of hell.......

At least there is a proper chalice veil. Can't fault that
Abandon all hope all ye who enter here?
We could simply say that they are Episcopalians and it is prophetic...
But it looks like it has a proper chalice assembly...
De gusto us
De gusto us
Already but not yet.
Why do you point out the speck in your Brother's eye when you have a beam on your own? Spare us this drivel of your meaningless lives.

This would be more appropriate on the hem of the chasuble of many officials in the "Church."
