Can't be Slytherin Quidditch- it has house colors for Gryffindor and Ravenclaw too. Maybe it is an official Hogwarts jersey (after they all decided Hufflepuff was stupid and kicked them out?) Yeah... I know I took the Harry Potter analogy too far. I can't help myself. Sorry.
On the plus side, the existence of this vestment demonstrates that there must be someone out there who, while presumably liking the style, has a use for a black chasuble.
Apparently vestments are now a fshion statement - judging from this site, mostly bad fashion! Guess the liturgical significance of the symbols on a vestment is not a consideration anymore. What amazes me is not that there are any vestments like this out there, but there are so many of them!
A submission for your consideration: http://www.gloria.tv/?media=121084 about 40 seconds in. It's a twofer: Bad liturgical dancing AND bad vestments. I only hope the commentary underneath is French for, "What the Hell is this crap!?"
romishgraffiti - I watched your link. Truly dreadful. I believe it is in the diocese of Lille where they seem to have brought in the colour orange as another liturgical colour. There is a video somewhere showing the Bishop wearing an orange mitre and bright orange vestments. He looks like an advert for Fanta!
If you put it on it's side, it looks like someone lying on a deck chair beside the pool drinking a long gin and tonic... Probably the Ibiza collection...
This actually reminds me of battleships with "dazzle" paint jobs that were intended to fool a submarine as to which direction they were moving and make them harder to torpedo. In this case, one can't easily tell which way the celebrant is moving so it's harder to hit him/her with a thrown hymnal. Fiendishly clever.
dona eis requiem ... Isn't it a pity that the deceased doesn't get a veto against the ugliest Requiem set ever known. David and the Sybill would be aghast indeed!
This chausible was apparently designed for a "Film noir" liturgy. Or as my art critic friend would say, it's a "juxtaposition of post-modern formalisms."

oh not obscure at all - That's a Slytherin Quidditch jersey!

Could be for one of the Dark Lords of the Sith...
The Sith aren't colorblind.

I just wish we could see the flip side. Do you think there's a kachina figure there?
it's a map for Tron to find the CMP's weak spot
It belongs to Cruella de Vil.
Rather than a graphic novel, I see it as a map of the NYC subway lines.
Why, just why! Oh my God why?

Oh, God. It's so ... Seventies.

What liturgical season is black and orange?

Kwanzaa.
I think it might be one of the costumes from Gilbert & Sullivan's opera "The Mikado"!

"Ladies and gentleman, the Rt. Rev. Darth Maul!"
Someone took the Santa Fe style and ran with it. Thank God there's no coyote with a bandanna.
