A TRIBUTE TO CHROMIUM

Because Maine Episcopal Bishop Stephen Lane is rocking green flames.  Chromium burns green.  Get it?  It's funny.  Okay, maybe not so much.

Trees, surely? It's a stylised landscape:

sky
trees
ground
lake/sea

Which doesn't explain what it's doing on a cope, but does get us away from transition metal chemistry.

Now the gentlman 2nd from the left and the gentlelady on the far right are wearing nice stoles with albs that fit them well. See, Episcopalians do wear tasteful vestments.

They are Episcopalians aren't they?

It does look like no one told the Bishop this wasn't a costume party.

Indeed, he is the
The High Priest of the Four Elements...

To my mind, though, the colouration reminds me of a strutting peacock.

P.S.
Lady, if you recognise yourself in this picture, would you mind doing a couple of buttons up on your blouse in church, in future.

The lady on the left side of the picture looks just about normal. How did she get in there?
