DON'T LOOK AT IT, MARION!!
Mr. Andrew Bartus informs me that he saw this at a vestment establishment. I don't even want to consider the possibility that someone might actually wear this during Divine service.
It's the new thing in "chasubles" called the ChasuKool...you do the consecration...then snap the front and back points together at the cr*tch...then you are set to do a liturgical dance around cauldrons of burning sage...
I believe this item is an overlay for a choir robe. The vestments behind the item being scorned are clearly products of Gaspard (the American version, formerly Robert Gaspard) and I do believe that I saw this little number in their recent catalogue.
You know, when I started in the parish, they did not have any vestments as past pastors brought their own. All I could afford, and would spend even if I could have afforded it, were single colored chasubles with no symbols at all. After surfing through this blog site, I can see how lucky I was.

Prom dress circa 1983.
I remember one of the girls in Human League wearing this back in the day.

At least it isn't being sold as a Chasuble.

Ugh... the running shorts of the liturgical world!
